Days of Yore Update #2

I can hardly believe that we are halfway through 2026. As usual, the first half of the year was a bit chaotic and so I had issues with continuing my Days of Yore Challenge. However, all is not lost. I am getting back on track and I have several things on the go at the moment. I have even gone so far as to build a Social Media Schedule so I can keep on track with posts.
To start with I am finally getting down to completing my spring cleaning. I know it isn’t spring but the middle of summer however, I am doing it anyway. Our spring was cold and wet, which delayed putting in my garden. It took weeks to get all the plants I had grown and purchased into their proper places. This caused a domino effect which pushed everything back. Now, it is a furnace outside, humid and smoky, so working inside is preferable.

Additionally, I am working on revising my cake decorating courses in order to share them online. A few will be free, others will cost a nominal fee. As a former Wilton Method Cake Decorating Instructor and winner of a few ribbons, I believe I am as qualified as many online to share my knowledge. My initial courses will be targeted towards the hobbyist, such as the Mom who wants to make a birthday cake for a child. Cake Decorating 1.0 will cover the basics. Later courses will cover more advanced techniques.
I will also be picking up the other lifestyle changes I had contemplated when I first put forward this challenge – less social media, reading more, making and wearing period clothing, etc. I was perhaps naïve in thinking I could easily push the modern world aside but I am continuing with the Challenge.
I hope that you all have been having a great summer so far.
